When creating a quote, you are required to select Payment Methods and Payment Terms (such as Due on Receipt or Net 30). This ensures that when your quote is accepted, the system can seamlessly transition your project into the billing phase without requiring extra setup.
Key reasons payment terms are required:
- Powers automated invoice creation: When a customer accepts a quote (or you manually mark it as accepted), ATB Invoicing automatically generates a pre-populated draft invoice. Setting payment terms on the quote allows the draft invoice to be properly configured right away.
- Internal record keeping only: The payment terms you select on a quote are strictly for internal setup. They are not visible to your customer on the quote document or web link.
- Flexible until sending: You can edit the payment terms on a quote at any stage—even after sending it to your customer. They only become permanently locked once the converted draft invoice is officially sent.
